Customer Reviews

This place is an absolute surprise for Italian food. I have to admit the availability of decent and authentic Italian food in central Illinois is lacking as I am from the Rockford area decades ago which had offerings that could shame Chicago. The fried ravioli and the dipping sauce was such a wonderful shock. Everything is home made and to perfection. Being my first visit I had to hit the Lasagna. Bam. What can I say. Not overwhelming with ricotta cheese but plenty of other cheese. The homemade yeast dinner rolls were to die for. There is liquor offerings but I do believe you can bring your own. A big definite on getting back there.

We tried the Valentine's Day special. It was super busy, and we did not make reservations. The wait was a bit long than I usually like, but the food was well worth it. The ravioli was the best part of the sampler, and the garlic knots were a great compliment to the whole meal. I love that when the staff got overwhelmed, they never let it ruin the night for anyone even themselves. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I were camping at Sangchris State Park and my sister recommended this place. The special sauce is delicious. My husband had the lasagna and I got the spaghetti with meat sauce. Friendly staff. Food came out quick and hot. Bathroom was clean and stocked with female products and body spray. If we come down again, we will stop by. Excellent price point. What a gem for a small town to have.

My family of 13 ate here on a Tuesday before Christmas. The service was awesome but the food was almost unbelievably good. The alla panna was one of the best sauces I've ever tried and mixing it into my chicken Alfredo sent me into a food coma. Highly recommend.

What an absolutely phenomenal experience!!! Short story...a friend who lives in the area posted how great this place was on FB so I decided to check it out. What a brilliant move on my part! We get there and are warmly greeted and sat. The server is a wonderful young lady who tells us a little about some of the items we are interested and quickly gets our drinks and lets us be to check over the rest of the menu. She is very attentive and comes back and takes our order. She brings us some of the most amazing knotted dinner bread. The salads come out and are TOP notch. The bowls are cold as they should be and they have just the right amount of dressing. The dinner comes out and both of our orders are better than most any other Italian restaurant we've been to. We were checked on repeatedly by both our server and a nice lady who we later found out was the owner. They've got this figured out and are just doing it RIGHT! We drove a decent distance to get here and I'd do it again tomorrow! COME TRY THIS PLACE! You won't regret it and it will become your new favorite just as it's become ours!

If someone else were buying, I would turn around and go right back there right now and eat that same meal all over again. It's a little place in a little town. I almost drove right past it. But it was more than worth the 30-minute drive to Edinburg. They had me hooked from my first bite of those rolls. I don't know that I have ever had better. My wife ordered lasagna, and I had the chicken and shrimp tetrazzini. Oh man. At least six ounces of chicken and three of the plumpest, sweetest jumbo shrimp I have had this side of Louisiana, perfectly cooked. With just the right amount of pasta, so I left full, but not miserable. We split a tiramisu for dessert. Yes, it was homemade, and yes, it was fantastic. Now I have got nothing against Olive Garden. But I have to tell you...if I can drive the same distance (give or take a mile or two) and pay the same price to get food this much better? I think I am going to be wearing out the back roads of Northern Christian County. Besides, the menu is humongous, so I am going to have to go back a few more times just to get a fair sampling. Though honestly, they could just bring me those rolls and a bowl of Alla Panna, and I'd be good. Getcha some!
